Heath Consultants is seeking a self-starting, highly motivated individual who can adapt to a fluid work environment and an occasionally demanding schedule as a Senior GIS Software Engineer for our Leak Survey Analytics GIS services and tools. The individual should be well-organized and self-directed and have experience in administering, designing, and developing GIS systems and tools in mobile and web application for GIS.
In addition, the Senior GIS Software Engineer will recommend changes to current workflows for improving products, following best practices for software development and unit testing.
Participate in needs assessments/requirements meetings and document solutions for enterprise geospatial data platform for use; deployment, configuration, and administration of Enterprise Geospatial Platform; Provide/write system technical recommendations, standard operating procedures, administrative and help documents for clients and technical teams; Communicate with peer architects and developers; Troubleshoot solution errors and support end users; Present system design information to technical and non-technical audiences; Create mapping, imagery, and data services
Work with SDLC practices/processes in an Agile team delivering value to the customers and Service business unit on Leak Survey Analytics system. Participate in Agile software development ceremonies.
- Work with product managers to gather requirements and translate into software detail design documents and solutions.
- Review software requirements and recommend, document, and implement innovative approaches to solving software engineering challenges.
- Participate in story grooming, clarification exercises, create unit testing and support testers in designing automated and manual test procedures for the scope of work engaged in.
- Apply best practices to software engineering to develop, enhance, and support
- ESRI Xamarin Forms mobile application,
- Python and PowerShell automation programs for desktop,
- ESRI JavaScript API version web applications,
- RESTful Web API interfaces built in .NET C# and python,
- Infrastructure needed and deployment automation using Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Cooperate and coordinate development with 3rd party development teams
- Manage time and workload and know when to seek assistance from internal or external company resources.
- Excellent communication skill to perform client interaction, and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Technical writing skills to document implementation details, configurations etc., along with collaboration technologies like WebEx, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.
Awareness of Cyber Security and security vulnerabilities in coding.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with ESRI Suite of Products (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS On-line, Mobile apps) ESRI JavaScript API, ESRI SDK, Xamarin Forms (ESRI solutions preferred)
- Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL with ability to create SQL statements for data mining
- Knowledge on Cloud-Native architectures
- Microsoft Server and/or Windows 10, or Linux system knowledge and administration
- Must be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment and able to perform tasks without a lot of oversight
