About the Role:

The ideal candidate for Sound Physicians’ GL Senior Accountant role is highly motivated and looking for development opportunities. The candidate will be working closely with the Senior GL Manager, Assistant Controller and Chief Accounting Officer on preparing and reviewing financial statements, account analysis and reconciliations, participating in the monthly close process and audit preparation. A rounded accounting education base, prior experience in the General Ledger, and polished interpersonal skills are key to success in this role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participation in the monthly close process, including internal and external reporting
  • Preparing journal entries and relevant support
  • Creating and updating account reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Support implementation and maintenance of process-level internal controls
  • Tracking and accounting for revenue, accounts receivable, prepaid assets, fixed assets, and various liabilities
  • Analyze and understand variances in monthly results compared to prior month and other trends
  • Supporting regional teams reporting to management
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Assisting in the stand-alone Sound Physicians annual financial statement audit as well as the combined audit of Sound as a subsidiary of FMC
  • Supporting the Controller, Assistant Controller and Accounting Managers in various projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed to perform your job:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, US Auditing Standards, and ability to research current accounting guidance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of organization

Education and Experience:

Education

  • Minimum: BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, Business Administration or related field

Experience

  • Minimum: 3-5 years of experience preferred in a related work environment, preferably in general ledger or equivalent
  • Preferred: CPA or eligible to sit for CPA exam

Other details:

  • Remote WFH
  • Sitting at desk working on computer for extended periods of time
  • Working on computer for up to eight hours (with breaks), with additional time required for ledger close and year-end audit work
  • Occasional work requirements on weekends or beyond normal daytime work hours associated with month-end closings (once monthly)
  • Moving/lifting file boxes (up to 25 lbs.)

Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographical location.
