Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily analysis and execution of the procurement process for all business channels.
- Reviews forecasts, sales trends and advertising strategies to purchase and maintain appropriate target inventory levels.
- Analyze reports to determine plan of action to prevent out of stocks and excess weeks of supply.
- Partner with key departments to identify and resolve supply chain issues, item cost maintenance, purchase order cancelations, delivery date revisions and invoice discrepancies.
- Participates in meetings and establishes rapport with Sourcing Managers to stay updated on vendor related issues
- Works with management staff to suggest new methods and develop tools for improved work flow process.
- Provides training for co-workers and “go to” resource to help resolve difficult issues
- Leads Special projects as delegated by management
- Create and publish reports to meet the business needs of the Purchasing Dept
- Procure inventory for all business channels. Submits reports to Purchasing coordinator to input Purchase orders and update information into systems.
- Reviews and APPROVES purchase orders issued by coordinator.
- Provides training for co-workers and decision maker for difficult situations
- Provides management staff with suggestions for improved work flow process
- Develops reports and tools to support Dept goals
- Manage inventory levels to appropriate weeks of supply in the distribution centers Maintain skus to inventory levels as outlined by individual goals
- Proactively interacts with key departments to refine process to create “best” business practices.
- Ensures products strategies and transitions are executed according to Category Management plan
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- BS/BA and 4+ years of Inventory, Purchasing or Retail experience.
- Experience working in Purchasing environment understands forecasts,
- Familiar with advertising strategies
- The candidate should be a confident communicator who is able to clearly document and explain Purchasing analysis approaches and results to technical and non-technical customers / partners.
- Experience working with documentation tools and creating functional interfaces preferred.
- Needs to be outcome driven and consistently exceed expectations.
- Will be expected to perform a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected as part of the job performance and will need to rely on judgment and experience to accomplish goals.
- Strong knowledge of purchase ordering system, best practices and methodologies of purchasing.
- Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications. Excel, Work, Outlook
General office environment requiring ability to:
- stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
- speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
- use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
- lift up to 15 lbs.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $51,800 - $77,800 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 136 hours per year, including 16 hours of Floating Holidays and paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law. The Company observes 12.5 paid holidays.
