Senior Living Fitness Director / Director of Vitality

Verso is our signature Vitality Center at Ciela Senior Living. It takes a unique, integrative approach to members’ physical, emotional and mental well-being, driven by both observational
and scientific data. It’s not about troubleshooting health problems when they occur; we want to be proactive about maximizing longevity, independence and confidence so our members can live their best and most optimized lives.
Verso incorporates physical fitness, including our hydrotherapy program utilizing a HydroWorx 2000 pool, as well as restorative modalities such as lymphatic compression, acupuncture and an infrared sauna. Our Director of Vitality will run the program, teach group classes, conduct personal training and work with third party PT and OT. Additional trainers will be brought in if and as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and instruct both group classes and personal training based upon experience and residents interest, while continually ensuring resident safety
- Assess members’ physical state utilizing Senior Fit Test (and other measurement tools) and prescribe an appropriate fitness plan
- Conduct aquatic therapy for both individuals and groups and operate HydroWorx 2000 pool (training to be provided, if necessary)
- Promote Ciela Vitality Center to residents, families and the community through promotional programs and events
- Create educational content for web and social media, outlining the Ciela Vitality principles and approach as well as suggestions for senior fitness
- Instill a positive, fun and safe atmosphere that promotes social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical growth for older adults
- Interact in a positive, empathetic, tactful manner with older adults, their families, referral sources, and the community-at-large while building meaningful care-based relationships
- Work toward maintaining each resident’s self-respect, resident rights, dignity and personal safety.
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of senior living as well as state regulations pertaining to older adult health
Requirements:
- Degree and/or experience in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Gerontology with an emphasis on Fitness
- First Aid and CPR certificate
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH SENIORS IN A FITNESS SETTING
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
