Job Summary
The FP&A Sr. Manager is responsible for Business Partner support including Budgeting, Forecasting, Financial Reporting, and Analysis Shared Service functions such as Tech Operations, Business Development, Alliance Management as well as supporting Treasury and Cash Management reporting and operational processes.
The individual will need to work in a cross functional and multi legal entity environment while supporting the financially focused culture throughout the organization.
This individual must be able to assess and anticipate client needs, be able to learn agile and be able to deal with ambiguity and be able to translate complex data issues into clear and coherent information and solutions.
The individual will be expected to support multiple business partners and complex functions as well as work collaboratively within Otsuka Finance Team with departments such as Accounting, Sourcing and Procure to Pay (PtoP).
Job Description:
  • Ability to handle multiple workstreams and functions independently.
  • Works with Business to prepare Annual Budgets, Long Term Plans and Quarterly Forecasts.
  • Engages in the preparation and analysis of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for senior management, project leadership and cost center leaders.
  • Proactively provides analysis of direct project and department costs to determine trends and report these findings to Senior FP&A Management.
  • Manages accrual and accounting process across the business.
  • Ensures data integrity and delivery of financial reporting, including expenses at the project and expenditure type level.
  • Provides input and analysis on key expense trends and metrics.
  • Provide monthly Variance Commentary for Senior Leadership presentations with CFO.
  • Initiates and conducts meetings with members of the teams on topics such as budget matters, understanding and interpreting department financial data, invoice management, contract management and other related business issues/topics.
  • Support department initiatives, clinical studies, global functional activities, and commercial activity.
  • Support growing CMO and alliance activities from a manufacturing perspective.
  • Support submissions for cash management, cash planning for Fixed Assets, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
Required:
  • BS/BA degree in business/finance/accounting, or closely related field of study
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within the pharmaceutical, Life Science or Technology industry.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in FP&A or Accounting roles
  • Experience supporting companywide budgeting, forecasting, and contracting processes.
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications. Especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with Budget planning and software applications and database reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a keen focus on customer service
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work independently, take initiative and complete tasks to deadlines.
  • Must be open and flexible to the changing environment.
  • Ability to build varying types of financial models.
  • Experience working in a team based, matrix organization.
  • Self-confident and willing to ask questions to bring clarity to issues.
  • Self-starter and ability to contribute innovative ideas.
