The Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS) manages the city's public art program, cultural partnerships grant programs, the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, and The Creative Advantage initiative in the effort to foster a city driven by creativity that provides the opportunity for everyone to engage in diverse arts and cultural experiences. The Job
ARTS is seeking Senior Operations Manager to play a critical role in coordinating, overseeing, managing and facilitating the Operations Unit. You will manage the Finance, Facilities, and Resource Impact Teams. These teams are responsible for managing the ARTS’ budget, King Street Station Gallery, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, the data assessment and race and social justice contributions of ARTS’ programs. This position will also oversee the administrative support for ARTS’ contracting and maintenance processes. You will partner directly with ARTS Leadership to ensure our Office has the resources it needs to administer services and programs, including all contracts and facility needs with a lens focused on racial equity. You will oversee staff responsible for visitor and customer interface and problem solve for related issues.

Providing direct leadership and supervision of the Finance team, Facilities team, Data Assessment Manager, RSJI Coordinator, Panel Coordinator, and Gallery Staff- Establishing best practices and goals in day-to-day budgeting and customer service
- Providing operational support towards measuring impacts of programs on the arts sectors and race and social justice
- Demonstrating leadership in furthering the racial equity goals of the City of Seattle’s Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI)
- Measuring success of operational practices across the department
- Reviewing and making recommendations related to day-to-day budget operations, facilities operations, and maintenance of all ARTS’ facilities including King Street Station, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute
- Reviewing and updating ARTS’ operating policies and procedures for ARTS assigned programs and facilities.
You will be successful in role if you have demonstrated significant technical knowledge in operations, finance and/or budget management providing direct oversight to operating staffs, particularly in a complex public or private sector organization. You’ll also possess the ability to communicate at all levels tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing. A commitment to listening, creating opportunity for diverse perspectives, and continual outcomes supporting public sector priorities and values. You will need to be skilled in fostering and developing mutually respectful relationships. You will also be tasked with maintaining a balanced and collaborative approach to problem solving.

This is a full-time position classified as a Manager 2, Exempt. This position is exempt from the Civil Service and the FLSA. This position will be expected to be in-office at least twice a week and comply with City of Seattle Return to Office policies. Individual schedules will be based on agreement between the employee and management.
The full salary range for this position is $99,910.80 - $149,918.40 annually.
