Our well-known drone manufacturing Washington D.C. client is seeking a Senior Policy and Communication Manager to focus on policy and corporate communication in North America, mainly the U.S. You will be the face of the company! This position will take the lead in representing our client’s policy and corporate communications in North America, and will play a strong role in our larger marketing strategy for the region.
This is a remote position with occasionally being present in the Washington D.C. area office.
This position requires immersing yourself in innovative technology and related regulatory matters as well as wider corporate communication, explaining them easily to media and other stakeholders, and responding to unplanned situations in ways that will enhance the reputation of our brand.
The client is looking for someone who:
Has a genuine interest in technology and related regulatory matters.
Has experience with working with various products, doing press releases for those products in line with the company policy.
Understands complicated products and can explain it to the media in a simplified way
Handles crisis situations with ease.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
To succeed in this position, you will be expected to understand the company’s corporate agenda and products, the regulatory frameworks under which they are being used, devise an inspiring and effective regional communication plan, and establish and maintain extensive media relations. You need to be exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, from learning the specifics of our products, understanding regulatory opportunities and challenges, tracking news coverage, to producing flawless written PR assets. You must also be resourceful and flexible to accommodate the operations of a global company in which your closest collaborator on a project may be on the other side of the globe.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing public relations projects suitable for local media and public influence - based on the company’s products, regulatory and corporate image communication goals.
- Developing solid relationships with the media to encourage the best possible coverage of the corporate and regulatory strategy.
- Researching, writing and editing critical written documents, including news releases, white papers, and internal reports.
- Collecting, tracking and analyzing media coverage.
- Organizing media interviews and press visits, attending policy events around North America, acting as PR policy spokesperson for the company
Job Requirements:
At least 10 years of public relations experience, with cyber security experience is a plus
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant field such as politics/government/Communication
An excellent and comprehensive media relations network
Ability to operate independently in a sometimes challenging work environment
Ability to set goals, prioritize tasks, and achieve success in coordination with regional management, the Global Head of Policy and Global head of PR
First-in-class verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail, while staying focused on larger goals
Ability to travel on a regular basis and be flexible with work hours at times
English to native standard
Salary range: $90k-$150K DOE
