Summary:
The Sr. Pricing Analyst is a critical support role on the Pricing and Contracts team functioning within the Products & Healthcare Services division of Owens & Minor. Individual assumes a lead role within the team by aligning with Sales, Marketing, Finance and internal stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, provide detailed product financial analysis, and execute complex competitive pricing strategies and bid proposals for branded and/or private label products. Individual also develops financial analysis to support pricing actions in response to changing business requirements and ongoing requests from strategic clients Proactively deliver analytics though efficient data mining, including SKU-level recommendations via pricing actions to increase business profitability.

Salary Range: $75,000- $85,000/year
Core Responsibilities
- Champion pricing concepts and tools that help the sales team effectively price and structure deals while managing business metrics and requirements
- Provides day-to-day leadership and financial expertise in designing and managing complex product portfolio pricing strategies based on our marketing and sales business objectives and cost drivers. Formulates pricing recommendations, policies and guidelines. Monitors compliance with pricing policies and strategies and recommends options for business team leaders to consider.
- Partner cross-functionally to drive process improvements, automation, and team development
- Collaborates with quoting, contracts/rebates, distribution pricing, and sales to facilitate the proper deal structure of an RFP to win new business. Finally, complete pricing analysis for RFP and new business opportunities which includes profitability, incentives levers, and GPO sensitivity & compliance.
- Secure and document final approval terms including pricing, rebates and other material terms and conditions and provide final package to Contract Managers and stakeholders to execute the agreement
- Design and develop reports and dashboards exhibiting sales trends and analysis that aid in decision making
- Coordinate with the rebates team and marketing team to manage end user access to special pricing contracts
- Conduct margin analysis for product categories to aid in decision making and reporting to internal teams
- Conduct and lead presentations of financial data for deal review process. Confidence in speaking to the financial data presented and backing up the supporting analysis to help drive the decision makers to a congruent approval.
- Monitors sales activity and trends and compliance with pricing policies and strategies.
- Works with large volumes of data from multiple systems. Strong ability to develop key insights and to communicate findings to senior leaders in a coherent manner. Possesses critical thinking skills combined with a robust sense of curiosity. Comfortable working in an environment in which information may be incomplete or Statement of Work (SOW) does not exist in full detail.
- Develops and maintains pricing models that analyze margins by product/category using a cost-per-case basis. Determines the impact resulting from different pricing strategies to analyze effectiveness
- Collaborates with Enterprise Sales and HQ Finance teams to establish best practices in cross sale pricing strategy and deal review. Be an instrumental change agent in creating a world-class pricing organization with focus on commercial excellence.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance; MBA preferred
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience in Pricing, Commercial Finance, and/or in Sales Support Operations
- 3+ years of experience with strategic pricing analysis and leading / supporting RFP bid functions
- Knowledge of chargeback and / or rebate incentive programs
- Ability to effectively interface with and influence senior management and customers in a matrix environment.
- Highly organized and process-oriented; strong attention to detail and take pride in outputs
- Strong financial modeling skills; advanced-level knowledge in Microsoft Excel (modeling/analysis)
- Service-oriented, particularly for the internal team and clients
- Ability to respond quickly to request and independently prioritize decisions under pressure
Preferred Experience
- Proficiency in SAP, SAP-BI, MS Power BI, Qlik Sense, Bex, Vistex, or similar data mining systems
- Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) or other Pricing designation
- Project Management Certification (PMP) / Certified Product Manager (CPM)
- Prior knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations, Aggregation groups and Integrated Health Networks
- 7+ years’ experience within the healthcare industry specifically the Medical-Surgical distribution/ Products business
