Senior Product Designer

Location: Remote - must be based in the United States

Job Type: Contract/Contract-to-Hire

Rate: Rate: $65-80 per hour

Summary

We are seeking to add an experienced first Product Designer to our team. You will join our Product Engineering department - responsible for strategizing, designing, and building products and technology that redefine end of life care for patients, families, and care providers. Your will own our product design process and shepherd our first digital health products from research, through prototyping, to product development and testing.

As our first Product Designer, you will own all things design at Guaranteed - our library, process, mockups, prototypes, and user testing. Your goal will be to ensure the best possible user experience for our core users - patients, families, and care providers. Your passion, like ours, is building the simplest, easiest, and most powerful digital tools for patients and families in the most trying time of their lives.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and handoff multiple digital products in Guaranteed’s product suite

• Assist and conduct best-practice user interviews, surveys, and research

• Create and iterate on user flows, user journeys, low/high fidelity wireframes, and clickable prototypes

• Scale up a rapid and robust product design process and design library

• Collaborate with product, growth, operations, and medical teams to deeply understand our goals and deliver for patients

• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of design process, research, library, and all artifacts

Skills and Toolset You’ll Need to Bring

• Obsession with patient-experience. You love building products in digital health because you love delivering care, support, and comfort through technology

• Consistently learning new things — about design and healthcare — from your friends, you colleagues, your communities, and the world

• Expertise building and iterating upon user journeys/flows, low/high fidelity wireframes, and clickable prototypes

• Expertise scripting and conducting user research including interviews, surveys, and A/B testing

• Strategic 0 to 1 product building process and execution skills based in agile principles

• Deep knowledge in developing the following:

  • User flow and journey artifacts

  • Low and high fidelity mockups

  • User interview scripts & briefs

  • Rapid prototypes & iterations

  • Detailed product & process documentation

• Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Nice to Have

• Degree or certificate in product design, UX/UI, or relevant degree

• Digital healthcare / wellness experience

• 0 to 1 startup experience

Relevant Experience

• 2+ years of experience in digital health product design

• 3+ years of experience as a product designer or UX/UI design

• Deep knowledge of UX/UI design principles

• Experience using remote collaboration tools to write documentation, lead exercises, conduct research, and test new features (we love Notion and Miro)

• Experience building and iterating upon user journeys/flows, low/high fidelity wireframes, mockups, and clickable prototypes in modern design tools (like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.

• Knowledge of color, typography, detail, and other brand design elements
