Job description
The Position:
The Senior Accountant will perform all aspects of reinsurance accounting.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Payments of deposit premium for XOL treaties
  • Quarterly financial ceded premium on XOL treaties - GNWP & GNEP Basis
  • XOL treaty True-up calculations
  • GL reconciliation - (Premiums Payable XOL) for quarterly close including commentary and each treaty reviewed quarterly
  • GL reconciliation - (Premiums Payable QS) - review list of treaties quarterly working to verify accuracy
  • Settlement on shared treaties with Arch Canada and UK
  • Commission reconciliation for Finance
  • QS accounts - Rending and settlements along with applying cash call credits
  • Assistance with PWC requests
  • Assistance with collateral review and requests - annual process
  • LOC maintenance (increases and decreases required)
  • Special reporting required with affiliates
  • Facultative loss calculations – financial closings and management reporting
Required Skills/Experience:
  • 3+ years’ experience working in Accounting/Finance with emphasis in the insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and analysis.
  • Desire to pursue innovation and improvement
  • Has strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
  • Proficient Excel skills: Pivot tables, v-lookups; data management
Education:
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • For individuals assigned or hired to work in , the base salary range is USD $79,900.00/Yr. to USD $107,900.00/Yr. as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
