**THIS POSITION IS ADVERTISED IN FORT GORDON, GA FOR VISABILITY PURPOSES. THE POSITION IS BASED OUT OF FORT BELVOIR, VA AND WOULD REQUIRE AN EMPLOYEE TO WORK ONSITE. **
POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Senior Security Specialist will perform Antiterrorism (AT)/Operations Security (OPSEC) support, analysis, coordination, integration, resource management, and program management. Provide professional and management development training support. Provide force protection operational support and emergency management support. Assist with the Biometric Intelligence Program. Conduct critical infrastructure assessments.
- Work will be performed at Fort Belvoir, VA, Fort Meade, MD, or Fort Gordon, GA.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Assists in developing policies, procedures, and directives to monitor, evaluate, and enable resolutions to safeguard the workforce, reduce property loss, and protect automated information systems and assets across the entire spectrum of threats to ensure mission continuity.
- Provides intelligence and counterintelligence (CI) support to INSCOMs OPSEC program. Assists in establishing and maintaining an OPSEC program that includes the development of threat assessment (TA), critical information lists (CILs), vulnerability assessments (VA), risk assessment (RA), and other OPSEC measures to protect critical information.
- Collaborates with ATFP program objectives through active membership in Crisis Action, Protection Program and INSCOM Protection working groups to produce OPSEC guidance and/or annexes to the HQ Emergency Action Plan, Continuity of Operations Program (COOP), and the INSCOM AT Plan.
- Conducts security education, training, and awareness to ensure compliance with all administrative, security, force protection requirements for personnel with access to sensitive and/or critical information.
- Provides intelligence and counterintelligence (CI) support to INSCOMs OPSEC program. Reviews INSCOM Critical Information List and Essential Elements of Information to ensure the protection of critical information. Supports the development and execution of workforce directed Information Security (IS), AT, Information Assurance (IA), Industrial Security (IS), Information Security (Info Sec), and other traditional security program risk mitigation measures. Liaisons with Law Enforcement Offices, and Army Counterintelligence Center to identify adversary and cyber trends affecting INSCOM personnel world-wide.
- Assists in reviewing the content of the Army’s publicly accessible Web sites (.mil and all other domains used for communicating Army information) to ensure they are compliant with DOD, Army policies, and best practices. Conduct random reviews of web sites for disclosure of critical and/or sensitive information. Web sites include, but are not limited to, FRG pages, unofficial Army Web sites, external official presence (EOP) Web sites, Soldiers’ blogs, and personal published or unpublished works related to the Army.
- Coordinates with Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP) planners to identify and protect, through the use of OPSEC measures, critical information related to DCIP plans and programs and to integrate DCIP into OPSEC assessments and surveys as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of experience managing OPSEC programs supporting military operations.
- Knowledge and skill to interpret, develop, and write Operations Plans (OPLANS), Operations Orders (OPORDS), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) pertaining to security programs.
- Knowledge and skill to prepare, coordinate, staff, and implement policies, procedures, programs, and ability to plan and organize teams with different skill sets to identify problems and develop innovative solutions to improve organizational security programs.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
CLEARANCE LEVEL:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with eligibility for obtaining SCI Clearance
CERTIFICATION(S):
- OPSEC Level II (must have to be qualified)
