Senior Software Engineer - Production Support (Remote)
Job description
The SR Software Engineer is joining an Application Operations team and is responsible for providing level 3 technical support, contributing to the support of overall product lifecycle and standardizing processes for increased efficiency of the Tool Rental and Repair Applications. This position focuses on handling incident management, problem management, change management, ad hoc requests, knowledge management and automation. As a SR Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team working with engineers who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while supporting and improving the efficiency, resilience, and reliability of the Tool Rental and Repair applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- 60% Delivers and Executes - Assists in application maintenance and support; Provide 24X7 on-call technical support for application used by over 2000 stores in the US and Canada; Resolve issues reported by business and field operations end users; Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and preventative measures for system and application issues and communicate issues to management; Work with IT teams, vendor support and business partners to support infrastructure, hardware, and system software required to maintain the applications; Enhance and develop system monitoring and alerting solutions for application resiliency and reliability; Follows best practices established by the organization and participates in improvement conversations; Consistently helps the team achieve results, even under tough circumstances; Guides and coaches team members based on knowledge and skill gaps.

Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Service Now, Pager Duty, Slack, PCF, SQL, PuTTY/CyberArk PIM (SSH/Telnet client)
General exposure to databases (MySQL, Cassandra, dB2, Informix), db IDE (datagrip/Oracel SQL developer/DbVisualizer)
Experience with monitoring tools for alerting New Relic/AppDynamics/ExtraHop
Experience with GCP, Github BigQuery, SQL Plus is a plus
Albe to lead conversations with a diverse audience; production issue incident calls
Able to quickly troubleshoot and drive issue resolution to root cause
Able to conduct postmortem meetings and complete action plans
Able to lead daily team stand-ups, help drive and organize team daily activities
