Job Description

Role:

In this role, you must utilize creativity and a solid engineering judgment in failure analysis and improvements of algorithms and development tools for medical capital equipment, collaborating within highly cross-functional teams to ensure our products provide value to patients and customers.

You will be expected to use design and analytical skills to conceptualize, develop, and productize algorithmic

solutions for our systems. Making sound decisions when faced with the time constraints and ambiguous or incomplete information typical of research and development is essential.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• 
  Analyze complex electro-mechanical devices for dynamic safety and clinical risk and propose recommendations to cross-functional teams
• Analyze and update software algorithms for existing products
• Lead problem solving through root cause analysis with complex data analysis (control algorithms/statistics)
• Lead projects involving implementing new feature set
• Perform comprehensive testing to ensure the quality and performance of algorithms
• Work within multi-disciplinary teams to define requirements for new and current designs and participate in design reviews.
• Collaborate with New Product Development team to improve the transfer of knowledge from design to manufacturing through lessons learned and best practices
• Propose and implement specification and code updates.
• Evaluate, propose, and implement new solutions around data collection and data structures

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements

• Minimum of Master’s degree in robotics-related field and 3 years of experience in a related field (PhD preferred)
• Understand mechanical phenomena and complex mechatronic assemblies through rigorous modeling and analysis
• Thorough theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in robot manipulator kinematics, dynamics, and embedded real-time control including motion and vision sensing
• In-depth knowledge of software principles, practices and techniques including testability, maintainability and scalability. The ability of writing efficient and reliable codes that really, really work on real systems is essential
• Proficient in Matlab and C/C++ is a must, and experience of other high level programming languages, e.g. Python and JavaScript, is a plus
• Self-driven with the ability to excel in a high-energy, small, focused team environment, to maintain a strong sense of shared responsibility and reward, and to make work fun and interesting
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Able to work independently and determined to solve challenging problems
• Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary functions like clinical, human factors, industrial design, interaction design, etc.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits and equity, and the anticipated pay rate for this position is $155,800 to $224,200. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including location, skills, and experience level.
