Fors Marsh is seeking an experienced and motivated User Experience (UX) Researcher for our Evidence and Insights team, which supports federal agencies and other public and private sector clients by improving experiences through human-centered research. This individual's primary responsibility will be to lead data collection, analysis, and reporting in support of research and evaluation efforts for government clients looking to improve and modernize digital experiences. Specific duties including applying qualitative and quantitative UX research methods, coordinating with other team members to execute analyses, and preparing deliverables. Successful individuals in this role will have experience in highly collaborative and Agile environments and be comfortable with ambiguous and evolving projects.
- Defining research objectives and identifying appropriate UX methodologies to improve experience based on client needs.
- Conducting interviews and focus groups as well as usability tests and employing other UX research methods such as tree testing and card sorting.
- Leading the design and execution of UX research projects, including developing research and analysis plans, and study materials.
- Providing expertise in human-centered design and/or design thinking to internal and external teams to promote development of intuitive and useful products.
- Preparing presentation, memos, written reports, written proposals, and other internal or external communications summarizing research methods, findings, and implications for scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Developing and disseminating research findings through written and oral presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Overseeing project tasks and deliverables and collaborating with colleagues on a day-to-day basis while working under tight deadlines to fulfill client requests.
- Creating and updating Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) packages.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in social sciences or related fields such as Anthropology, Psychology, Human Factors, or Human Computer Interaction.
- A minimum of three years professional research experience or post-graduate training in UX research.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Proven competence for meeting deadlines, multi-tasking, and managing work under ambiguity/uncertainty (e.g., changing factors, limited information)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to concisely write technical concepts in plain language so they can be understood by non-technical audiences.
- Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in applied research as part of a government contract.
- Experience coordinating with designers, product owners, and/or developers to test and develop digital products.
- Experience working with government agencies such as IRS, CFPB, SEC, or DHS.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred.

Salary: $105,000-$132,000
