Sunday River is looking for team members to join our award-winning snowmaking team. Sunday River Snowmakers' main goal is to deliver the most dependable snow in New England, which is crucial to the success of the resort. Our Snowmakers must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends, and holidays. Snowmaking shifts are 12 hours long and begin and end at 7AM and 7PM. Sunday River Snowmakers must also be able to negotiate all types of terrain while maneuvering snow making equipment. Responsibilities:- Operate snowmaking equipment in mountainous terrain to provide consistent and even snow coverage on ski trails
- Set up, monitor, and shut down snow guns, hoses, and all snowmaking equipment
- Inspect guns, hose, hydrants and equipment to insure safe and efficient operation
- Maintain the maximum, most efficient operating level of snowguns by checking their functioning capacity and determining the snow quality
- Perform minor routine maintenance and repairs on broken hydrants and hoses
- Assist in emergency shut down procedures
- Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to lift, bend, kneel, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
- This position requires performing a variety of heavy, physical tasks outdoors day and night. All applicants must be prepared to work in adverse conditions.
- All applicants must be familiar with and able to work in harsh winter conditions with extremes of temperature, wind and precipitation.
