Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). This is not a remote position. Under minimal supervision, the Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides comprehensive psychosocial assessment of patients. The LCSW provides direct assistance to patients requiring emotional and financial assistance, through providing counseling or securing funding for treatment. This position also provides knowledge of agencies and organizations that offer emotional, physical, social, and financial services to patients and families, as well as documents all communication appropriately, and provides follow-up counseling and support to patients and families to enhance the quality of patients care. Travel will be required for this position. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Meets with patients and their families for psychosocial needs assessment and examines social support, appropriate community resources, and coping mechanisms
• Documents pertinent contacts with patients and patients’ caregivers accurately and appropriately in EMR
• Provides mental health counseling as appropriate and completes all required billing forms for clinical services in a timely manner
• Provides psychological support to patients and families; provides support to clinic patients and their families during hospitalizations
• Acts as patient/family advocate in negotiation with the health care system
• Research funding options available for patients’ treatment, and complete documentation to secure funding.
• Develops and maintains support groups to enhance the quality of care to patients and their families
• Provides information to patients and families regarding resources both in local communities and those geographically distant, i.e. those patients contemplating procedures in other cities
• Facilitates team support or identifies patient and family needs through ongoing communication with clinic team members

Full Time Position, Monday - Friday

Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in social work from an accredited university
• Three years’ experience post-master’s, oncology experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• LCSW in the state of Florida

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications
