Description:

RPS Group is looking for a full stack Software Engineer to help support our current products and to help implement our next generation of desktop-based Ocean Science products. In this position you will have responsibility for innovative designs and solutions that provide both modularization and scalability of development. This is a visible role requiring the ability to deliver high quality code that meets feature and schedule goals. You will work closely with our team of software engineers, project managers, and product owners to develop world-class products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with Principal and Senior level software engineers building desktop and web-based solutions
• Work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment to support critical back-end systems and daily operations
• Collaborate with Product Managers to deliver products for our clients
• Review designs and software written by peer team members
• Write unit and integration tests
• Work with team members to drive the best possible technical solutions to complex problems

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of professional experience developing .NET based applications
• Relational database experience (specifically SQL Server)
• Self-motivated problem solver
• Strong math skills (specifically algebra and trigonometry)
• Demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in environmental, atmospheric, or ocean sciences
• Git-based source control system experience
• ASP.NET Core experience
• REST service consumer development
• Python development
• CI/CD understanding
• Azure DevOps workflow experience
• GIS technology experience
