Position Overview

Software Engineers are members of our product teams, responsible for creating, enhancing, and supporting common features. Working side-by-side with Product Owners, Software Test Engineers, and Business Stakeholders, they are actively involved in the complete software development life cycle in an agile environment including technical design, hands-on coding, unit testing, integration testing, performance tuning, maintenance, test automation, deploys and upgrades. They also work closely with DevOps, DBAs and Systems Engineers to make deployments easier to improve team velocity and overall quality of delivery.

As a Software Engineer within the Benefits Product domain, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the development and support of our Product within a collaborative team environment. Your role is key in the delivery of new initiatives, engaging in collaborative discussion amongst the group on the most technically sound approach forward, and contributing to our SDLC to deliver new capabilities. You’ll work side-by-side with Product Owners, Software Test Engineers, and Business Stakeholders, and be actively involved in an agile software development environment. Responsibilities

• Recommend and implement improvements to team core processes
• Complete stories or subtasks where the approach is less defined, however the outcome is clearly defined
• Work with senior team members to pressure test their design or approach.
• Propose appropriate scope adjustments centered on delivering the right client outcome while considering technical debt impacts.
• Understand a large code base to contribute to it and understand existing designs and technology choices to make appropriate adjustments to existing designs
• Ensure code exhibits good separation of concerns

Requirements

Required Experience

• Must have 2-3 years’ hands-on experience with full-stack web development, with experience in Client Side Programming and SQL
• Must be proficient in object-oriented design and development and unit-testing, Web Services, and web pages using ASP.NET and/or ASP.NET MVC with C#
• Should be familiar with Systems Architecture and developer tools
• Experience with unit testing and integration test automation
• Must be adaptable to change and have a willingness to learn
• Must have a strong sense of curiosity
• Must commit to their role and take responsibility for their tasks
• Must be able to work effectively in an agile and team environment
• Must be effective and creative in problem solving

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Some experience with Cloud Platforms Azure, GCP, or AWS (preferred)
• Some experience with NoSQL databases
• Some experience with React

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $75,000 - $120,143/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
