Position Title: Specialty Products Operations Manger

Type: Full-time

Job Position Description:

Responsible for coordinating the specialty products division’s priorities and goals and for overseeing their execution in accordance with the company’s stated mission, purpose, and values. This specialty product division includes golf and sports turf and landscape products. As a part of this work, this person is expected to ensure the product meets high quality standards. This person also works with direct reports and others throughout the organization to help them develop the skills they need to be values-based leaders. Maintains a network of key contacts and leverages those relationships to expand knowledge and understanding of the aggregates industry.

Wendling Quarries, Inc. (WQI) is a third-generation family owned and operated business that produces crushed stone, sand and gravel for individuals and businesses in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Day-time travel across multiple locations throughout Iowa
  • Lead the specialty products division’s operations in alignment with the company’s mission, vision, and values
  • Encourage a feedback-rich culture and leverage key insights to grow leadership skills
  • Works with direct reports to develop Performance Management Plans and to implement any necessary Performance Improvement Plans
  • Works with direct reports in field
  • Schedules production in accordance with current company priorities and gathers data for efficient forecasting
  • Communicates directly with field supervisors to establish needs and solutions
  • Keeps accurate and detailed reports/records for long-term strategy

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, or Turf Management or Equivalent Experience in Field
  • Expert-level product use and market area knowledge
  • Adequate skills in operation of equipment on site
  • Ability to act as a leader with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software

Hours & Compensation:

  • Monday – Friday
  • Approximately 50 hours/week
