PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs

PRCS is seeking a Sports Specialist to join our Sports division. If you enjoy sports and a team environment, are able to foresee potential problems and have the specialty skills needed to solve them, then this could be the position you’ve been looking for. The successful candidate will be highly dependable, well organized with a positive mindset and proactive work-style. This position requires superior customer service and communication skills.

Reporting to the Sports Program Manager, a top priority for this position will be to plan, develop, manage and administer year-round sports leagues for adults throughout Loudoun County.

Additional job duties include:

• Planning/programming and implementing year-round countywide adult sports programs, activities and special events.

• Manages and administers adult sports programs and acts as the liaison to the sports leagues

• Scheduling and coordinating field and facility usage

• Creating and distributing promotional materials to publicize programs and ensure maximum enrollment

• Request and facilitate use of school fields and facilities

• Schedule PRCS fields and facilities

• Assist with local and national sports tournaments and divisional special events

• Occasionally work evenings or weekends

• On a rotating basis, serve as point of contact after-hours (on call)

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree in Recreation or a related field

Two years job related experience.

Valid driver's license required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in programing recreational sports activites and special events for adults

Experience managing sports tournaments

Experience with automated scheduling system

Certification in Parks and Recreation

Membership in Virginia Recreation and Park Society

Successful candidates will undergo criminal background, credit and DMV record checks

Have upon hire, or obtain within the first four months of employment, First Aid and CPR Certification for adult, infant, and child
