Job Description Summary:


  • Under moderate supervision, responsible for complex accounting activities supporting the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger, which may include, but are not limited to: preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, budget variance reviews, research and analysis of assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting.
  • Ensure general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance With internal controls and GAAP and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Lead accounting initiatives/ projects including: process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes and policy.
  • Mentors less senior staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or other related quantitative discipline is required.
  • Four (4) years' experience in accounting for financial reporting in a public accounting firm or in a large for-profit corporate environment. A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP standards required. Outstanding knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications and/or mainframe or web based applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:
  • CPA a plus
  • Fixed Assets
  • Lease Accounting

Domicile / Work Location:
  • Due to the collaborative nature of this role, the selected candidate will be located in Collierville, Tennessee or Plano, Texas. These locations offer a hybrid work environment that supports in-person collaboration through onsite Team Days but allows team members flexibility to primarily work from home the rest of the time.
