GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
To manage the daily functions of the office of the Division Chair of Human Services & Education, answering and directing an influx of calls from potential students requesting information of the different programs offered by the Human Services & Education Division. Provide clerical support to the Division Chair, Program Directors, and faculty and staff, including posting of professional development records. Assist with problem solving as situations arise. Receives immediate supervision from the Division Chair and exercises no supervision. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position, and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA: *Attach a brief statement addressing how you acquired each of the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities through your education, personal experience or previous employment
Knowledge of: 1. Office methods, practices, and procedure’s including various computer programs that include, but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word. 2. Have an understanding or pertinent Federal, State, and college laws, rules, and regulations. 3. English usage spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Skills in: 4. Speed and accuracy using a computer keyboard for successful job performance. 5. Using Ellucian’s Colleague, MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Informer, Web Browsers, teleconferencing software, and MS Windows operating systems for the purpose of completing projects. 6. Analyze data and draw sound conclusions. 7. Work independently without close supervision using critical thinking skills. 8. Organize and prioritize projects to meet deadlines. Be able to multitask. Ability to: 9. Learn new software quickly and stay abreast of new software applications. 10. Perform a variety of duties as assigned and complete assignments with allotted time. 10. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course work. 11. Perform responsible and sometimes difficult secretarial work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative. 12. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 13. Read and follow complete oral and written instructions.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activates. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.

QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: More than one year of professional work experience in an office environment.
