Job Summary:

CNPC Bohai is actively seeking creative, innovative, best-in-class experts to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Expert on Downhole Data Measurement and Control

with experience in push-the-bit rotary technology. The R&D expert is primarily responsible for performing research in rotary drilling tools, leading R&D projects while applying theoretical foundations in the development.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead R&D of push-the-bit rotary drilling tools
  • Understand data analytics regarding
  • Develop a series of push-the-bit rotary drilling tools with push-the-bit structure with build-up rate of (8°~15°) /30m and maximum temperature resistance of 150 °C /175 °C and realize industrialization and large-scale application.
  • Provide customers and management with project updates
  • Handles special projects as assigned
  • Understand drilling process and data mining as well as data processing
  • Conducts business in alignment with the BHDC core values

Key Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of measurement and control or mechanical design
  • Stay up to date on industry and technology related to rotary drilling tools
  • Understand theoretical foundations of R&D
  • Ability to work in a team environment, provide forward thinking ideas
  • Strong leadership skills to participate in interdisciplinary research
  • Experience in vertical drilling/rotary steering/while-drilling tool development in service companies
  • Ability to design technology and products
  • Understand measurement and control circuits and tool structures
  • Develop software kits
  • Ability to lead R&D team to complete project assignments

Qualifications:

PhD in Engineering or related fields

3+ years of experience working in an R&D environment, overseas research a preferred.

Achievements with patents or publications

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel:

This position may require international and domestic travel. Travel between all BHDC locations and testing facilities is required.
