Job Summary:

CNPC Bohai is actively seeking creative, innovative, best-in-class experts to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Expert on Oilfield Chemistry with experience in drilling fluids. The R&D expert is primarily responsible for performing research downhole drilling fluids, leading R&D projects while applying theoretical foundations in the development


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct R&D on high temperature resistance, environmental protection, and low-cost drilling fluid systems.
  • Develop new drilling fluid systems to adapt to the future development trend.
  • Conduct research on the relationship between molecular structure and treating agent performance, develop high performance and high cost-effective treating agent.
  • Conduct research on the indoor synthesis process and production process of treating agent and form comprehensive industrial production standard and quality control system.

  • Have working experiences in international drilling fluid companies, universities, scientific research institutes, drilling fluid treating agent manufacturers, etc. as the technical backbone or leader of R&D and production.
  • Extensive experience in drilling fluid treating agent formulation, process research and development and commercial development.
  • Master the mature industrial production technology of water-based and oil-based drilling fluid treating agents.
  • Capable of producing solid and liquid products with relatively simple and low-cost process technologies.
  • Ability to lead R&D team and external technology promotion.
  • Ability to lead projects and apply project management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintain high quality occupational health, safety & working environment based on HSE rules and regulations.


Qualifications:


PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, PhD preferred with five-ten years of experience in drilling fluids.

3+ years of experience working in an R&D environment, overseas research a preferred.

Achievements with patents or publications

Must be willing to work and live in TEDA-Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area or Tianjin, China


Work Environment:


This job operates in a research lab. This role routinely uses standard lab equipment such as breakers, test tubes, flasks, thermometers, and computers.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

The employee is regularly exposed to hazardous chemicals and airborne particles. While performing duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; reach and pull with hands and arms, and lift up to 50 lbs. The vision requirements include: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. This job also requires the ability to read and understand ideas in writing as well as oral and written communication.


Travel:


This position may require international and domestic travel. Travel between all BHDC locations and testing facilities is required.
