FEAM Aero is currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This position is located in Miami FL and will require considerable training at HQ Office in Miami, FL, and may be eligible for remote working. This position is responsible for all manners of routine GL work, including but not limited to adjusting journal entries, bank account and other similar month end balance sheet reconciliations, month end closing efforts, annual audit preparation, and fixed asset system administration.

Job Duties:

  • Preparation of monthly adjusting journal entries, including revenue and expense accruals, prepaids, deferrals, and other routine roll-forward transactions.
  • Preparation of daily bank account reconciliations and monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for closing.
  • Review monthly GL accounts for reasonableness and accuracy, and make corrections when necessary.
  • Prepare eliminating and consolidating entries within our group of companies.
  • Prepare research and recommendations for new or significant accounting issues as the need arises – including M&A activity.
  • Assist in the creation of Accounting policy and procedures, and ensure they are followed.
  • Administration and processing of the fixed asset subledger system.
  • Assist FP&A in the completion of monthly financial statements and associated research.
  • Assist in the search, planning, design, and implementation of a new financial ERP system.
  • Assist with additional Accounting tasks and projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting.
  • Five years’ experience in a corporate Accounting staff role.
  • Experience with financial ERP systems beyond QuickBooks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA designation or experience at a CPA public accounting firm in Assurance department.
  • MS Access abilities.
  • Intermediate or Expert level of MS Excel abilities.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and consistently hit deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff as well as external parties, most importantly with our customers.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle extra work hours when required by the department leadership for month end, year end, or similar busy season efforts.
