Job Summary:

The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/part-time Staff Assistant 2, Staffing Office. The ideal candidate will:

• Upon direction of Staffing Coordinator/Nursing Supervisor, reassigns staff according to changes in patient census and other categories and unit activities.
• Enter accurate changes in Kronos within 24 hours.
• Prepare and assist the incoming shift with staffing and staffing projections.
• Call the various units to ensure scheduled staff time of arrival is documented and accurately entered in Kronos.
• Obtain supplemental staff as needed (overtime and agency).
• Ensure all assigned units have the number to staff needed according to census.

Required Qualifications:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer application literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree preferred.
