WNC seeks a Staff Attorney to join its growing in-house legal team, which serves all of WNC’s business lines. Qualified candidates will have one to three years of experience in area of multifamily real estate transactions and finance. The ideal candidate will have prior experience representing real estate developers and investors in the acquisition and financing of multifamily and commercial properties. Knowledge of federal and state affordable housing and community development programs and regulations is preferred but not required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Negotiating, and closing real estate and investment fund transactions.
• Review of real estate conveyance, financing, and corporate formation & governance documents.
• Conducting due diligence reviews to include title and survey.
• Prepare submissions for audits and closings.
• Prepare and draft documents for real estate transaction closings, on-going asset management, entity formations and dispositions.
• Prepare investor proxies and follow up with investors to communicate deal points if requested.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and provide legal advice to internal business clients.
• Track ongoing claims and litigation at WNC properties.
• Supporting other departmental administrative functions.

Qualifications:

• Background in real estate transactions, affordable housing experience a plus.
• Strong drafting skills.
• Experience conduction title and survey reviews.
• Strong communication skills and professional attitude.
• Meticulous with attention to accuracy and organization.
• Willingness to collaborate effectively with a talented team.
• Ability to take initiative and produce results.

Education & Experience:

• Juris Doctorate
• Active Bar license
• 1-3 years of previous real estate law experience

The compensation listed represents the expected salary for this position. A candidate's work experience and other job-related factors will also be considered.
