Ancestry is looking for a Staff Software Developer to join our team. You will work on the Web Platform team to solve, implement, deliver, and adopt shared architecture, systems, libraries, and components. You will solve problems in both the front-end and back-end. Using a variety of technologies and skillsets, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and high quality development across the company.

You will...

• Identify and solve technical challenges at all layers
• Work closely with company architects and other team members to design and implement company-wide software solutions
• Collaborate with UX designers on shared web toolkit libraries
• Write quality code, tests, and documentation
• Partner with product and engineering managers and their teams to gather requirements and adoption strategies

Who you are...

• 8+ years software development experience with Node.js
• Advanced understanding of JavaScript/ECMAScript 6+
• Experience in web technologies such as CSS3, HTML5, Angular, React and jQuery
• Advanced knowledge with software development principles and best practices such as TDD/BDD, CI/CD, Rest API design, SOLID principles, web application performance strategies, scalable application design
• Experience in large scale platform technologies such as; Docker/Harness/Containerization, Relational and No SQL database design and AWS (or other cloud) technologies
• Experience in Node.js libraries and frameworks (e.g. Express, Webpack, Babel)
