  • Purpose of Job
      The Stock Clerk Receiving/Storeroom Clerk is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing shipments to the hospital to ensure excellent customer service is met and maintained.
  • Job Requirements
      Education
      • High School diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) preferred.

      Experience
      • 6 months previous stock clerk experience preferred.

      License/Certifications
      • Requires the ability to provide transportation to other campus locations within a reasonable timeframe.

      Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
      • Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers required.
      • Basic computer skills required.
      • Basic data entry skills required.
      • Able to operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and motorized carts, required.
      • Able to read, write, and comprehend various written reports and documents required.
      • Able to travel to various locations required.

  • Essential Job Functions
      Essential Functions I

      • Delivers stock and non-stock supplies and mail at assigned facilities to departments by following departmental procedures to ensure departments receive their items within established timeframes.
      • Processes delivery receipts on a daily basis by entering information into the computerized ordering program and researching incorrect shipments to ensure accurate information is available for invoices to be paid in a timely manner.
      • Processes incoming shipments by checking all property for damage and shortages, logging all shipments without packing lists, and signing for shipments to ensure accurate deliveries are received.
      • Prepares all outgoing shipments by identifying the priority of the shipments, accurately completing all packing slips and shipping labels with ship to/ship from locations, and contacting the proper courier for pick up to ensure all packages are shipped expeditiously and are charged to the correct departments.
      • Maintains and stores gas cylinders by completing gas inventories based on par levels, following proper storage procedures and safety regulations, and assisting in the delivery and set up customers to ensure cylinders are available when needed.
      • Performs general maintenance checks on fleet vehicle by properly fueling the vehicle, checking fluid levels and tire pressure, and coordinates any needed repairs to ensure a safe vehicle is provided for customers and drivers.
      • Facilitates payment of invoices by identifying departments for correct charging and processing check requests to ensure payments are made within established timeframes.
      • Assists with overseeing the loading dock areas by controlling flow of traffic for loading and unloading of all vehicles to ensure deliveries are made according to departmental policies and procedures.
      • Assists with transporting mail and supplies to Health System facilities by delivering mail and supplies to assigned locations within established timeframes to ensure excellent customer service is provided.

      Essential Functions II

      • Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.
      • Follows and understands the mission, vision, core values, Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures.
      • Other duties as assigned.
