The Stone Countertop Finisher position is responsible for hand finishing the stone countertops, delivering quality results and professional service to our customers.

Essential Functions

• Hand fabricate and polish all custom cut edges of stone countertops
• Repair chips and re-finish edges when required
• Review and follow all job plans and instructions as listed in SPS
• Scan barcode on stone piece before starting a cut and after completion to ensure that the correct pieces are being worked on and moving through the fabrication process.
• Maintain and operate equipment in accordance with operating manuals and procedures
• Maintain an efficient, organized and clean work area
• Pre-inspect materials before processing and double check material
• Pull measurements for accuracy
• Adhere to all safety policies and standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of self, team members and company property
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Work Environment

This position will work in an indoor production environment around large machinery, overhead cranes, and power tools. There may be areas with wet floors. The production environment involves a consistently high level of noise.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, push, pull, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Individuals must have the ability to lift a minimum of 100lbs on a regular basis.

Required Education and Experience

• High attention to detail
• Ability to read and follow job plans and instructions (CADs and blueprints)
• Ability to use and read a tape measure to the 16th of an inch with accuracy and precision

Preferred Education and Experience

• Handheld polisher and basic hand tools
• General carpentry knowledge or experience
• Experience working with stone products
• Basic computer skills
