Job Summary


THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR CURRENTLY ENROLLED CLAYTON STATE STUDENTS!

The Community Assistant (CA) position assist in the day-to-day operations of the Laker Hall front desk and the Laker Village Housing office including but not limited to answering and directing incoming phone calls and taking messages, practice conflict management and greeting visitors. This position involves working and potentially residing in the same environment. A large part of a CAs duties involve being a representative of the University and resource to residents and guests.


Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrating excellent personal and professional judgement and a positive, business-like, and courteous attitude the University, University Housing, campus partners, visitors/ guests, peers, and residents.
Ability to give undivided attention to professional responsibilities while at work
Following procedures and protocol put in place to safeguard the building, its residents, and resources
Greet all visitors and guests
Responding to inquiries made at the Laker Hall desk, Housing office, around campus and on the phone
Making referrals to the appropriate person or on-campus offices
Conducting projects online research and report findings
Accepting U.S. mail and package deliveries
Sorting, logging and notifying residents of package and mail pick-up
Delivering mail, packages, and supplies to housing staff not located in the main office
Typing and/or filing records
Conduct room inspections regularly
Perform regular audits for Housing supplies, mail, student files, etc.
Be available to work one week before and one week after classes end (mandatory)
Assist with Housing tours and attend some marketing related events on Housing’s behalf
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR CURRENTLY ENROLLED CLAYTON STATE STUDENTS!

Experience with Microsoft word and Excel

Good listening and communication skills

Customer service oriented

Accuracy and attention to detail

Display confidence and integrity

Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher

Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
