Javitch Block LLC (JB) is now hiring a full time Insurance Subrogation Collector/Resolution Specialist in our Cleveland, OH office and your qualifications and skill set may be an ideal match for this exciting career opportunity.
Subrogation specialists are primarily responsible for reviewing and negotiating auto accident files for collection, reaching out to insurance companies, attorneys and uninsured motorists, making decisions as to the next steps required in the collection process and assisting in the management of that process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review files and the supporting documentation to develop applicable theory of liability and determine if there is insurance coverage.
- Make decisions about the likely collectability of the file and recommend the next course of action.
- Contact appropriate parties, including insurance carriers, attorneys and uninsured motorists via outbound/inbound phone calls and other means of communication to secure payment of the claim.
- Utilize firm systems and resources to stay organized, manage work load and schedule follow-up as needed.
- Utilize various means of skip tracing tools to find assets and location information.
- Document all claim related activity in the firm’s file system to aid in claim resolution
- Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations
- Maintain established performance metrics
- Comply with firm policies and procedures as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required.
- Experience: 1-3 years of auto insurance subrogation collection experience.
- Language/Communication/Interpersonal: Ability to read, write and speak fluent English. Proficient in Spanish a plus. Strong written, verbal, active listening and phone communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner. Ability to negotiate (i.e. ability to use full and complete information to negotiate best arrangement). Ability to work in a team environment.
- Analytical: Detailed oriented. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and multi-task. Solutions-driven
- Technical: Ability to use standard office equipment. Basic computer skills, ability to use a keyboard and calculator. Basic technical phone skills. Basic ability to use internet and web mail for business purposes.
- Other: Ability to refer to policy and procedures when applying information and making decisions.
Work Environment
Work in a clean, well-lit, well-ventilated, fast-paced, highly energized office environment.
Other Work Requirements
Required to work one late shift per week based on firm needs; plus work one Saturday per month.
