Your Job as a Substitute Teacher:

The Substitute Teacher teaches students basic academic, social and other formative skills, through instruction in one or more subjects by promoting physical, mental and social development. You will be demonstrating a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards students and recognize that patient safety is a top priority and will be teaching students basic academic, social and other formative skills, through instruction in one or more subjects.

Essential Functions as a Substitute Teacher:

• Supervise classroom and maintain a positive environment for learning
• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups or one-on-one
• Adhere to treatment plans
• Adhere to documentation and follow educational plans, goals and progress, as required by the facility and the state where the facility is located.
• Identify educational needs of students and development formal educational plan or program to meet those needs
• Create lesson plans to teach a subject and teach students how to study or communicate with others
• Observe person(s) receiving services to evaluate their educational abilities, strengths and weaknesses, working with them to improve their abilities and work on their weaknesses
• Communicate with family members, counselors, administrators and other teachers on progress
• Develop and enforce classroom and maintain a positive environment for learning

Your Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors or better in Education or related field
• Experience as a substitute teacher preferred
• Valid substitute teaching certificate issued in Missouri required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $120.00 per day

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
