Haverford Township Recreation Department has summer camps for children ages 3 - 5 years old designed to build social skills and engage children with active imaginations with new themes each week. During the week, staff will help children develop life skills such as conflict resolution, decision-making, and confidence. Staff will lead games, songs, crafts, and stories related to a theme, and play outdoors on site.

Summer camp lead counselors are responsible for ordering craft supplies and planning daily activities and games for children ages 3-5. The lead counselor is also responsible for managing a staff of 2-3 people. The junior and senior counselors will follow the schedule provided and supervise games and activities under the direction of the lead.

We are looking for staff from June 1 -August 4 from 8am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday. Specific dates and times will vary based on camp program.

- Successful completion of pre-employment screening including Pa child abuse clearance, Pa criminal background check, and FBI fingerprint clearance.

- First aid and CPR certification.

- Previous experience working with young children with an educational background preferred.

- High school diploma.

- 1-2 years’ experience educating and managing groups of children in a professional setting.

- Strong oral communication skills with staff and parents.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
