The WTP Site Support Services/Distribs (S3D) operates within the Facility Management organization of WTCC. The S3D Superintendent is responsible for directing field work activities for the S3D group. Superintendents are responsible for safe and environmentally compliant execution of field work activities, reviewing work for quality and completeness, reporting performance, and ensuring procedural compliance. Other duties include front line worker development and mentoring, support for long term planning development, materials support, work schedule updates, and fundamental labor relations. Selected applicant needs to be willing and able to work a nightshift schedule, M-Th 5:30 pm to 4:00 am.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

SUPERVISORY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all work safely with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Ensures all safety procedures, and processes are followed without deviation.

  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for janitorial methods, equipment and chemicals, and safety requirements.

  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Ensures environmental guidelines are followed without deviation.

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work.

  • Field implementation of S3D work packages, work instructions, and procedures to support maintenance work activities including; pre-planning, material staging, needed permits, and coordination between support organizations.

  • Reviews work performed for obtainment of objectives, policy compliance and priorities, effective coordination, technical adequacy and responsiveness to established guidelines.

  • Integrates efficient maintenance and operations that follow company policies, client requirements, and governmental regulations.

  • Approve crew mix and personnel assignments.

  • Supports Labor Relations in determinations for front line worker awards and human performance issues.

  • Will be required to complete other assignments to support Construction, Start-up, and Plant Operations departments as necessary to meet evolving WTP Project needs.

  • Perform work as a FWS as pertaining to LOTO activities.

  • Obtain and work to permits as required to perform assigned activities.

  • Review, and approve timecards IAW timekeeping guidelines and policies.

  • Enforces job-site work rules and attendance.

  • Maintain training status for assigned personnel.

Experience

  • Must be familiar with commercial building janitorial methods and equipment.

  • Experience working with the WTP work processes and requirements.

  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Experience in disinfectant activities including mitigation of COVID-19.

  • Familiar with special requirements for access and working within WTP process and support facilities.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

HS Diploma or GED and 4 years of supervisory experience in production maintenance, plant operations, facility maintenance, or work control is required.

OR

Associate degree in business administration or related technical field and 2 years of supervisory experience in production maintenance, plant operations, facility maintenance, or work control is required.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related technical field and 2 years of supervisory experience in production maintenance, plant operations, facility maintenance, or work control is required.

Supervisory experience could include facility maintenance including janitorial, maintenance and operating activities such as corrective or preventive maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, production processes and engineering. Maintenance or Operations, planning, work control or material control, project scheduling experience, supervisory experience in the DOD/ DOE / ISMS / VPP environment is preferred.

Safety Trained Supervisor Certification preferred. If not certified, need to have ability to become a Safety Trained Supervisor within 1 year.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 5:30pm to 4:00am

Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $82,868.03 - 126,787.23 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
