Job Summary:


This position is responsible for supervision of the staff and resources necessary to maintain Hartford Hospital on second shift, third shift Monday through Friday, and all weekend/holiday shifts. All apparatus staff report to this position. The position manages the projects, work order responses, and emergency repairs.

Job Responsibilities:

Supervise apparatus staff to ensure prompt and effective maintenance and repair.

Lead daily calls, tasks and projects, and function full time as a "hands on" supervisor, completing tasks, and supporting/leading other members of the apparatus team.

Ensure that communication with clinical staff is maintained at all times, especially in order
to promote information sharing for timeframes, completion status, and unforeseen factors.

Organize apparatus staff and workload to maintain productivity.

When appropriate, promote opportunities for skill enhancement and improvement for apparatus staff, in keeping with ongoing responsibilities for maintenance and repair.

Report shift plans and activities to Associate Director, and others as appropriate and required.

Qualifications


  • High school education, with technical training, and/or applicable experience in lieu of education.

  • Several years of experience in maintenance and repairs of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical equipment and systems.
