Job description
Under the direction of the Nurse Director, makes patient assignments and coordinates care provided by the staff for patients and families. Schedules procedures and coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the unit, interacts with physicians and patients in patient and staff issues, and assists the nurse director in the staff evaluation and disciplinary process. Assists the nursing staff in emergencies and in periods of high patient census as indicated. Is fiscally responsible in assuring that staffing ratios are followed by increasing and decreasing staffing as indicated. Maintains an orderly and clean work environment and assures that staff complete daily assignments.
EXPERIENCE: Three years OB experience.
OTHER: Basic computer skills
LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association) Preferred: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Nursing, Preferred: Masters - Nursing
