A Fortune 100 aerospace client is looking for a Survivability Engineer, Nuclear Hardness & Survivability Engineer, preferably with an Active Secret Clearance, support of the FBM-SEIT-LE2 programs.

Location: Open to candidates in Littleton CO, Huntsville AL, King of Prussia PA or Sunnyvale CA
Position: Survivability Engineer, Nuclear Hardness & Survivability Engineer
Pay: $120-$125,000/yr.
Duration: Direct hire
Shift: 9/80 schedule

**with sign-on bonus and relocation package provided if necessary**


Position Summary:
  • This System Engineer position will require you to apply electrical, electronics and physics theories in executing various tasks related to the Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S) engineering discipline.
  • The scope includes technical engineering related to radiation effects on missiles, with a focus on strategic systems.
  • This engineering discipline ensures that missile design, from the component level to the system¬ level, will meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments.
  • These environments may also include natural space radiation.
  • This position is expected to be the responsible NH&S Subject Matter Expert on various programs within LM Space facilities across the country.

The breadth of responsibilities expected from this position include:
  • Technical planning and documentation
  • Specification requirements derivation
  • Modeling and analysis
  • Test planning and execution
  • Weekly Activity Reports
  • Leading the Survivability Working Group
  • Requirements verification/validation to support overall system hardness against radiation threats

Requirements:
  • Clearance - Final Secret
  • Experience in two or more of the following:
  • Experience in Man-made Nuclear and Natural Space Radiation environments and in Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S) engineering discipline/work
  • Electrical engineering simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, etc.) and with software tools for performing electrical engineering and mathematical analyses (e.g., MATLAB, etc.)
  • Test laboratory environments and associated test disciplines and test equipment (e.g., data systems, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and/or signal generators)
  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline and 5 - 10 years of professional experience.

Desired skills:
    • Radiation software tools (e.g., NOVICE, Srim/Trim, Novice/Geant4, Creme96, Crememc, Shieldose, Spenvis, Omere, Ap8/Ap8, and Ap9/Ae9)
    • Radiation test facilities [e.g., test labs in University of California at Davis, Texas A&M, Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF), Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL)]
    • Electronic, electrical, electromechanical and electro-optical (EEEE) components
    • Piece-part radiation testing and radiation effects on piece-parts performance and reliability
    • Electromagnetic environment and theories
    • Ability to lead multi-functional teams, build strong relationships with team members and build consensus among peers
    • Enthusiastic learner and willingness to be an apprentice to senior experts in the NH&S discipline
    • Support anomaly resolution teams
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SharePoint
    • Organized and able to effectively multi-task to accomplish this fast paced job
