The Position:
The Sustainability Analyst will report to the GBC Sustainability Practice Line Lead who in turn reports directly to the Global Business Consulting Vice President. The Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for developing and managing a global sustainability program.

Support the development of an industry-leading global program that is designed to evolve with emergent trends in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) space, avoid risk and capitalize on opportunities.

Externally, help to establish GBC the creation and monetization of sustainability-focused products and service. Demonstrate to our clients and travellers that sustainability is our competitive edge with end-to-end solutions, strategic partnerships, technological advancements, and constant innovation. Synthesize and translate complex scientific research into actionable advice for the business. Empower the Engagement team with a sustainability playbook.

Execute the sustainability goals of the enterprise to achieve stated targets (e.g., carbon neutrality, RE100, science-based targets initiative (SBTi), net zero, waste diversion from landfills, water reductions and efficiencies). Create collateral and materials that clearly communicate program strategy, goals and metrics to all levels of the organization.

Embed sustainability into all aspects of our team and our engagements. Provide subject matter expertise and function as a trusted adviser
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be a proven leader in Sustainability with the following qualifications:

3+ years of relevant experience who is passionate about ESG and will be quick to learn how it relates to business travel

Undergraduate degree with major/minor of Environmental Law, Engineering, Climate Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability – a plus but not required

Demonstrated ability to execute results on several complex projects at the same time.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills required, including written and verbal presentation skills. Excellent advisory and influencing ability required to work collaboratively and effectively to support and creation and delivery of customer value to our clients. Additional work will be required with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including consultants, client managers, analysts as well as client teams (travel manager and travel procurement, sustainability managers.)

Advanced analysis skills and modelling experience

Preferred expertise regarding sustainable aviation fuel but not required.

Well-versed in industry certifications and carbon emissions calculation methodologies and enterprise solutions.

Understand linkages between global frameworks and Scope 3, Category 6 Business Travel goals as well as understand impact to Scope 1 and Scope 3. Global frameworks include but aren’t limited to Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP); Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD); Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB); ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System); United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs); Global Reporting Initiative (GRI); EcoVadis, and additional leading frameworks.
Location
The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $46,000 to $93,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
