Location: Boulder, CO

Schedule: Full Time

Salary Range: $99K-$109K


OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking a System Engineer III to support a critical customer mission for a large DoD contract. This role will work with various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) as well as be cognizant of algorithm development and integration issues. This role must communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. This is a supervisory / leadership role and will represent the organization as a technical POC and may have frequent inter-organizational and customer contacts.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM plus 5 years of experience in related field
  • OR Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience
  • OR PhD and 0 years


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and identify complex, multi-disciplinary problems, breaking into components, and design and implement algorithm solutions for a broad range of sensor exploitation activities.
  • Sensor output shall be used for identification, characterization, interpretation, and change detection of objects and events.
  • Planning and executing team projects, developing work packages, developing prototypes and customer demonstrations, in addition to analyzing algorithm performance, subsystems, and interfaces.
  • Report status to colleagues, including customers and management.
  • Provide problem resolution and improvement recommendations with strong time management skills
  • Perform risk assessments and analysis employing modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Make recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
  • Provide system engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements.
  • Travel to Government locations within U.S.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Algorithm development
  • Tool and software development using C/C++ in a spiral development framework.
  • Working knowledge of sensors, with respect to focal plane resolution, sensitivity, and line of sight considerations for the purpose of tracking.
  • Experience with configuration management software, including ClearCase/ClearQuest.
  • Generation of applicable documentation.
  • Knowledge of visible or IR focal planes and other sensor systems.
