Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a job opportunity for a full time Systems Engineer II in Newport, RI
Summary: Provide engineering services for operational submarine payload, missile, launcher, platform and support systems as well as perform launcher system failure analysis and certification.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, test, and analyze weapon systems with an emphasis on missile and launcher systems.
- Develop and coordinate requirements documentation with inputs from multiple commands.
- Conduct miscellaneous technical research in support of vertical launch systems
- Create Engineering drawings/computer aided design models to describe engineered solution. Fabricate prototypes and EDMs and incorporate approved changes into final deliverable
- Develop, review, and recommend changes to procedures for troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Conduct obsolescence and reliability studies and recommend solutions.
- Perform on-site functional tests and inspections to troubleshoot for issues, deficiencies, and non-compliance with system requirements. Provide report of findings as well as recommend/implement corrective action
- Conduct engineering studies as well as trade studies for designated launch systems.
- Research and analyze data and procedures related to the maintenance, operation, performance, or reliability of systems, and provide recommendations to improve maintenance/operational processes and procedures.
- Perform compatibility studies of proposed payloads to identify issues with launch system and target platform as well as perform integration testing.
- Evaluate/recommend changes to existing test loads/method documents (TLMDs) resulting from new fixtures, payloads/devices, and mission changes
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum education requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline.
- 5 Years of relevant experience in DoD Engineering (Public, military, or private)
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have an ACTIVE SECRET level security clearance or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance.
- Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills.
- Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Virginia Payload Module background
- Familiarity with U.S. Navy organizations, functional missions, environment and programs.
- Experience in submarine launchers, missiles, or payloads.
- Familiarity with DOORs
Physical Requirements:
- Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
- Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
- Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required
