Systems Engineer III

Location: Onsite – Huntsville, AL

Schedule: Full Time

OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking a Systems Engineer III to support a national defense contract. This role will work on-site in a classified environment to design, develop, and test component integration.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science degree plus 5 years of experience
• OR Master of Science degree and 3 years of experience
• OR PhD and zero years
• OR 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Software development experience using object-oriented programming languages such as Ada, C/C++, or Java.
• Experience with international sensors and fire control systems.
• Linux based environment experience.
• Knowledge of various scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
• Familiarity with Agile software development practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Missile Defense Systems and Sense & Warn based systems.
• Experience working on CMMI Level 3+ programs.
• Security + Certification
