This is one of the most common questions we get asked by people looking for a new CPA firm.

If we were to tell you that nobody has resigned in 5 years, that would be pretty good, wouldn’t it?

What about 10 years and no resignations? Wow, pretty impressive, I’m sure you’ll agree.

How about 20+ years then? No way! I don’t believe you!

It’s true.

Nobody has resigned at this Worcester-based CPA firm since their formation, over 20 years ago. They’re not a tiny firm either. There’s 30 people working there today.

When I asked the Partner why he felt his retention was so good, he simply replied by saying, "We don't expect our people to do things that we wouldn't do ourselves. We're all active Partners, working with the teams on all engagements and supporting their development".

In addition, you're not expected to work any more than 36 hours p/w during non tax season. You'll be able to work on a hybrid basis too and you'll get a generous 401(k), health insurance and long term disability cover.

Of the 6 Partners in the firm, 3 began as employees and progressed through the ranks. The firm is growing, so the fact that people don't leave won't stifle your progression opportunities.
