We are seeking a people leader at our Sterling Heights complex who embraces ownership and accountability while leading with character, competency, and commitment. This is a Team Lead position and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and other teams is a necessity.
This individual will manage the activities of the IT Compliance team. The teams responsibilities include audits (SOX, Cyber, etc), compliance activities, application vulnerabilities, keeping track of our generic and shared IDs along with management of the password vault.
- Provide the leadership and technical direction required to develop and deliver high quality work products
- Coordinate and assign tasks
- Hire, train, and mentor employees to establish the technical competency and expertise required to successfully execute responsibilities
- Promote a team environment
- Perform administrative duties associated with management of department personnel which includes, but is not limited to, providing feedback into performance appraisals, preparing status reports, and attending and conducting staff meetings
- Create a work environment that is oriented to quality and customer satisfaction
- Assure compliance with all applicable department processes
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but will consider 7-10 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Ability to plan, prioritize and direct activities of a team (previous supervisory experience preferred)
- Courage to make informed decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Work well on teams, both as a team member and a Team Lead
- Ability to multi-task and adapt easily to change
- Ability to effectively convey design options, solutions, issues and progress via formal presentations
- Be able to multi-task on simultaneous projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and scope
- Must have demonstrated leadership ability
- Have exceptional customer service and communication skills and be helpful and calm under pressure
- Have a proactive attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the toolset is continuously evolving
- Technical competence in our SOX applications to include data warehouse, OBIEE, Cognos, E-Business, WFM
- Ability to query data at the database level to retrieve data for evidence using SQL
- Maintain our SOX narratives and CSAs
- Update and/or create any processes and procedures related to IT Compliance
- Ensure evidence is completed on time and accurately when the auditors request it
- Ability to go the extra mile when needed during audit periods. This may include working off Fridays or weekends to ensure evidence is complete
- Ability to speak confidently and accurately to the auditors
- Attend meetings with GD Corporate to discuss IT SOX related items
- Work collaboratively with the other GD Business Units in regards to audits
- Work collaboratively with GD UK to obtain required evidence. This will require working early morning hours to correlate to the time difference with the UK
- Single point of contact for IT to the auditors and IT Security
