NovoSorb is a family of proprietary medical grade polymers that can be expressed in a variety of physical formats. NovoSorb polymers have advantageous properties such as biocompatibility and design flexibility. These properties underpin novel medical devices designed to support tissue repair, before they biodegrade in situ into biocompatible by-products via established pathways.

NovoSorb BTM (Biodegradable Temporizing Matrix) is the first product commercialized by PolyNovo. In 2015, following the FDA 510(K) clearance of BTM, PolyNovo was awarded an $11 million contract and a further $25 million in funding from the US-based Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to complete a trial with BTM for full thickness burns.

We have expanded our manufacturing facility and headquarters in Melbourne, Australia, establishing high quality processes, enabling product innovation and preparing for growth

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
Sells PolyNovo NovoSorb BTM in the respective clinical market to maximize potential revenue and grow market share in assigned geographic territory

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Responsible for achieving the sales quota and surgical case mix requirements for assigned territory
  • Develops new business through competitive selling and maintains existing relationships with customers (multi-tiered)
  • Manages surgical case coverage, including advising surgeons and staff before, during and after surgery
  • Understands and manages to local contracts; maximizes opportunity to drive penetration of accounts
  • Sells clinical and economic value of PolyNovo
  • Understands, communicates, and adjusts to market dynamics: o Local market intelligence o National campaigns by competitors o Information gathered from Definitive Health data
  • Maintain CRM with all current information including cases, pipeline account updates, surgeon meetings and communications, account status and updates and completion of all self-created and assigned tasks (mostly daily, some as activity dictates)
  • Drive and manage VAC process with new accounts
  • Hospital in-service with OR and post-op unit care teams
  • Manages to assigned budget
  • Effectively engages corporate resources to meet objectives
  • Ensures efficient asset planning, deployment and management
  • Provide market feedback/input to the Quality, Regulatory and R&D team through case report surveys
  • Participate in regional and national tradeshows as requested
  • Organize local journal clubs, grand rounds and peer to peer events as outlines in your business plan
  • Complete all administrative duties timely and as required: expense reports, inventory reporting (trunk stock and consigned), forecasting
  • Effectively process all orders – bill only and consignment accounts
  • Post-market surveillance customer surveys following surgical cases and dressing changes
  • Review Zoho (CRM) dashboard to ensure all orders are accounted for and review sales results

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure collaborative relationships with PolyNovo team members and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all documentation is up to date, quality system compliant and in order.
  • Comply with all company quality standards, procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Operate within the requirements of the quality system and ensure responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the applicable regulatory and quality processes.

COMPETENCIES, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or BMedSci/BSc (Life Sciences)
  • 3 years minimum of wound and/or burn care experience required
  • Scientific understanding of biotechnology
  • Ability to provide technical and sales training and support to new employees
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Novosorb® BTM and other company products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective
  • working relationship with co-workers, customers and other stakeholders.
  • Proficient utilizing a PC and specifically in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel as required – per territory requirements
  • Proven ability to take accountability for the quality and timeliness of their work outputs
  • High level of experience with working autonomously and within a very small team environment.
  • High level of proactive problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of reporting, documentation and organization
