Test Engineering Technician will be required to test and troubleshoot state-of-the-art complex digital systems assemblies to the component level.
Duties and Responsibilities of this role:
The Test Technician will perform functional test procedures that verify PCB and system fit, form, and functionality. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Applying methods and techniques for effectively monitoring various diagnostics tests and measuring performance on complex systems.
- Selection, set up, and deployment of complex and specialized equipment/facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies.
- Verification and validation of product configuration, test processes and test equipment/setup configuration and operation.
- Measuring, collecting, and recording of performance data that verifies the reliability and validity of the desired function; prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
- Programming and verification of devices.
- Troubleshooting of systems, devices, processes and/or test set-ups to locate and repair defective areas.
- Assisting engineers in submission of processes and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications by working from general block diagrams, rough outlines of basic circuits, oral instructions, schematics, etc.; making necessary calculations to obtain or compare data as required.
- Performing initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment; submitting recommendations for modifications as required to achieve desired results.
- Submission of defects reporting, non-conforming materials reports, and communication with production team in resolution of defects/product failures.
Any other task assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- 5+ Years experience in testing and troubleshooting electrical components
- Extensive knowledge of electronics principles.
- Candidate must be proficient with the use of various test equipment, JTAG/FLASH programming, and must be familiar with schematic diagrams and test documentation.
- The candidate must be able to apply electronics principles in the test and troubleshooting of high-density multi-system (multiple CPU/FPGA) assemblies, at the board and system level.
- High degree of skill in testing of complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits and systems.
- Experience with Complex tuning and moderate problem solving
- Experience with simple to moderate tuning
- Has solid understanding of Engineering standards and can read basic block diagram
- Experience with preparing complex test reports and data in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures and may help writing Acceptance Testing Procedures Runs complex testing; performs Thermal, Shock, Vibration and Environmental Tests Troubleshoots/problem solve, debugging of moderate to complex problems
- Use a variety of test equipment, including bus analyzers, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to ensure the highest quality of integrated and tested products
- Ability to work with little to no general instruction on daily activities Solid knowledge of tuning logic and methods Strong reading, writing English, and strong arithmetic skills required
- Understanding of electrical theory and OHMs law
- Knowledge of practical applications of engineering and technology, able to apply principles, techniques, and procedures to manufacturing processes, knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in manufacturing
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency within manufacturing.
- Able to determine root causes of operating errors and methodologies used to resolve them; ability to apply logic and reason to identify complex problems and develop solutions, ability to predict how changes in operations and process flow will affect manufacturing efficiencies and quality of finished product.
- Able to maintain training to applicable equipment and procedures as assigned per job title.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Oracle, Xilinx Suites, Dediprog, ProComm, SecureCRT, TeraTerm applications a plus.
