A Tool Move Technician at Tesla will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, tasks, and equipment as an in-house construction technician planning and performing tool moves, equipment installation and light structural steel installations. This position will support the internal Self-Perform Construction Team.

- Assist with planning, coordination, and communication to ensure the work gets completed with a focus on meeting project deadlines and cost goals without impacting ongoing production
- Enthusiastically cross train and support peers with project work that is outside of your, or their, core skill set
- Be willing to stop unsafe actions and have a positive safety attitude
- Identify and communicate quality, safety, and productivity improvement opportunities
- Engage in training on new tools, systems, equipment, and procedures as needed
- Accurately log work hours and material consumption using provided computer systems and software
- Identify and openly communicate methods, procedures, and tools to improve the service offerings of the facilities project team
- Support other projects when needed as business needs change
Comprehensive training and certificate of completion from a recognized rigging and signal training program plus the ability to calculate load weights and size rigging. Applicants with experience but no current certificate are eligible for employer-provided training.- Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, including use of fall protection
- Experience operating forklifts of all sizes and configurations, along with various other mobile lifting equipment
- Experience securing loads for safe transit
- Ability to assemble and anchor, or dismantle, manufacturing equipment using hand and power tools
- Ability to follow technical machinery/equipment manuals and interpret construction drawings
- Organizational skills to collect and store distinct parts and equipment components
- The ability to give and understand hand and verbal signals, as well as signal crane operators and clearly communicate intentions
- Strong working knowledge of jobsite safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying and mitigating hazards
- Experience with Lockout, Tagout, and Verification processes and other hazardous energy controls
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
- The candidate must be willing to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights
- The candidate must be willing to work in small and/or confined spaces
- The candidate must be able and willing to pass respirator test for use of PAPR (Powered air-purifying respirator)
- Ability to work alone and effectively with other people
- Candidate may be required to work irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Willingness to travel
