Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team in Lubbock, TX. As a Trailer Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in repairing and maintaining big rig trailers to ensure they are safe and roadworthy.

Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on big rig trailers, focusing on electrical and hydraulic systems, brakes, and other mechanical components.
• Conduct regular maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake adjustments.
• Replace or repair trailer components, including landing gear, suspension systems, and fifth wheels.
• Utilize welding and fabrication skills to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
• Conduct safety inspections to ensure trailers meet roadworthy standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during all repair and maintenance tasks.
• Work independently or as part of a team to prioritize and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of issues and implement effective solutions.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanics and welding, with a focus on big rig trailer repairs.
• Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including electrical and hydraulic systems, suspension systems, and brakes.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing trailer issues.
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• Steel-toed boots are required for safety purposes.
• Possession of own tools is a plus.

This is a full-time position with a Monday to Friday schedule and occasional Saturday work. The nature of the work may provide good overtime opportunities for motivated individuals. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
