Job Description:
At Midwest Transport, Inc., our Technicians adhere to the highest standard of safety, compliance, and time management. Our technicians perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trailers to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency and exceed industry safety standards. Our Technicians work under general supervision and report to a Manager.

Trailer Technician II Competencies on CMV Dry Van Trailers:
  • Trained and experienced in all facets of class 8 CMV dry van trailers
  • CMV trailer PM/DOT Inspector Qualified
  • CMV trailer Air Brake Qualified for drum and disc brakes
  • Trailer ABS system diagnosis and repair
  • Trailer tire and rim diagnosis and replacement
  • Trailer tandem axle alignment
  • Trailer wheel end diagnosis and repair including hub, stud, bearing and race replacement, bearing adjustment and wheel seal installation
  • Trailer roll/swing door and accessory maintenance, repair, and replacement
  • Trailer swing to roll door conversion
  • Trailer body panel, roof and floor repair, section, or replacement
  • Trailer scuff liner, “E” and “L” track repair or replacement
  • Trailer roof bow and post replacement
  • Trailer floor and threshold repair or replacement
  • Trailer top/bottom/front rail section or replacement
  • Trailer spring/air ride suspension diagnosis and repair or replacement
  • Trailer slider assembly maintenance and repair or replacement
  • Trailer subframe repair or replacement
  • Trailer crossmember repair or replacement
  • Trailer rear underride guard inspection, repair, or replacement
  • Trailer landing gear and support repair or replacement
  • Trailer upper coupler inspection and replacement
  • Trailer king pin replacement
  • Trailer lighting and wiring system diagnosis and repair or replacement
  • Trailer tracking installation, maintenance, repair, or replacement
  • Possess a Class 8 CDL
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Pay: $17-$23/ Hour
  • Minimum of 3 years-experience working in fleet maintenance
  • DOT Inspector Qualified
  • Qualified Brake Inspector
  • 8:00am – 5:00pm / Monday – Friday.
  • Valid License and dependable transportation to work
  • Pre-Screen Drug Test
  • Provide your own Basic Hand Tools and Toolbox
  • Proper shoes and entire
  • Will be required to wear OSHA regulated safety equipment.
