POSITION DESCRIPTION

NAME: DEPARTMENT: Physical Therapy 76210

Transportation Driver/Tech SALARY GRADE: 307 POSITION #: 8860

Position Summary


Patient transportation, maintenance checks and upkeep of hospital vehicle, good driving record, competency in operation of hydraulic lift and securing of wheelchairs. Perform patient related activities under the direct supervision of the licensed therapist or under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with daily activity and mobility needs. Will assist with other patient related activities defined by the supervising licensed therapist of Registered Nurse. Report data and changes in patient condition. Provide safe patient interactions in and accurate and timely manner. Will also assist and support the department with housekeeping and clerical duties, including cleaning of equipment and treatment areas, maintaining and stocking inventory, front office support and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Licensure/certification/registration:
BLS required (AHA or ARC), current Driver license


Experience Required:


Previous experience with passenger van or bus. Interest in Physical/Occupational Therapy

Effective written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work with others to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem-solving skills.
